Last Wednesday, the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (SFA) held its annual Awards Ceremony, where they awarded $375,000 in merit- and need-based scholarships to 178 seniors from T.C. Williams High School. New Target, as a corporate partner, proudly presented its New Target Internet Scholarship to Bezawit Teferi, who will attend Old Dominion University this coming fall.
New Target has supported the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria since 1998 on its web site and web initiatives. From developing its first web site in 1999, to showcasing gala auction items online, to accepting student applications and Telethon donations during its annual telethon, New Target has guided and supported the SFA continuously over the past decade. In recent years, New Target became one of the Scholarship Fund’s corporate partners. As a corporate partner, New Target is the proud sponsor of its own named scholarship, the New Target Internet Scholarship, which is given each year to a student who wishes to pursue a career in technology.
In its 25-years of existence, the SFA has provided financial aid advising to thousands of Alexandria students and awarded scholarships with a total value over $7.8 million to more than 3,400 deserving T.C. Williams graduates. We, at New Target, are extremely proud and honored to be a part of such an incredible organization!
